Certification Facts

  • CSR Exam Process

    • Written Examination: Multiple-choice covering California court rules, ethics, and reporting procedures.

    • Dictation Examination: Real-time shorthand transcription at prescribed speeds (e.g., 200 wpm).

  • Voice-Writing License (A.B. 156)

    • Eligibility: Complete an approved voice-writing program or equivalent training.

    • Exam: Pass the dictation portion only, then designate “Voice” on your CSR.
